What the archive records
Sumaira Khan is a Pakistani war correspondent with eighteen years in the field. She began as an embedded reporter in North Waziristan in 2004, covered the Lal Masjid operation for Khyber News, the Marriott blast and Benazir Bhutto's assassination for PTV and Express, and four years of national-desk reporting for Express Tribune. She was the only Pakistani journalist inside Afghanistan on August 15, 2021, reporting from Torkham, Jalalabad and Kabul as the Taliban took over.
