TBT Returns: Unpacking Geopolitics, Changing World Order & More

तो वह हमने season four के बाद pause कर ली थी. मैं एक break पर चला गया था. मैंने बहुत detail में बताया भी था कि क्या वजह है कि मैं podcasting छोड़ रहा हूं for the time being? क्या मुझे मसाल आ रहे हैं उसमें? मुझे guest के साथ क्या problems face हो रही हैं? Personally मैं किन areas के अंदर lack कर रहा हूं और मैं थोड़ा सा soul searching में जाने लगा था. मैंने उसमें सारी detail बताई थी. If you wanna check it out यहां पर कहीं पर link आ रही होगी. It's basically the four hundredth episode, the last episode that we did for season four. But over the past five months मैंने बहुत ज़्यादा soul searching भी की, मैंने बहुत ज़्यादा research भी की. मैंने समझने की कोशिश की कि actually एक तो यह है कि Pakistan की अगर हम बात करें तो Pakistan में जो missile है वह क्यों हैं? उनका root cause क्या है? अगर grass root पर जाकर देखा जाए तो क्या actual reason है कि वह मसले आ रहे हैं? ऊपर ऊपर तो हम दस बातें कर लेते हैं. हम सियासत भी discuss कर लेते हैं. हम you know कहते हैं कि यार अमीर आदमी खा गया मुल्क को, तो वह ज़ाहिर है क्योंकि एक survival of the fittest, एक underdeveloped economy, एक low income country जो है जहां पर हर बंदे ने अपना survival figure out करना है तो उसमें बड़ा difficult होता है कि वह actual में self awareness रख सके, वह अपने But actual में आपने जाकर थोड़ा सा grassroot पर जाना था, थोड़ा सा foundationally समझना था कि Pakistan as a nation, Pakistan as a state उसका मसला है क्या? और फिर अगर हमने इसको solve करना है तो थोड़ा सा हमने study करना था कि comparable economies, comparable countries, comparable nations उन्होंने पिछले पचास साठ साल के अंदर किस तरीके से evolve किया. अगर उनके ऊपर ऐसी मुश्किल आता आई तो उन्होंने उसके क्या solutions ढूंढे? तो थोड़ा सा मैंने वह समझने की कोशिश की which was very insightful और to be very honest one of the reasons why I left the podcast at the time was because मैं ख़ुद जो है ना वह एक sense of direction नहीं बना पा रहा था कि मैं answers तो मैं बाद में ढूंढूं. मैं लोगों से बात करके चीज़ें तो बाद में सीखूं. Dollarization और globalization of your businesses, of your economy. वह जब तक नहीं होगी आप किसी भी solution पर नहीं पहुंच सकते. तो पहला तो interest area मेरा direct आ गया कि जी मैंने Pakistan में समझना है कि यार हम exports किस तरह बढ़ा सकते हैं? हम अपने business को dollarize किस तरह कर सकते या अपने काम को dollarize किस तरह कर सकते हैं? चाहे आप अगर freelancer हो तो आप पूरी दुनिया के लोगों के साथ काम करके आप dollars में पैसे कमा सकते हैं या हम अपनी economy, अपने business, उसके पीछे geopolitics का एक बहुत major किरदार रहा है. जहां पर हमारी दुनिया का जो world order है जो you know कौन super power है, कौन बड़ा बाबू है, किसका निज़ाम जो है वह चलेगा वह निज़ाम challenge हो रहा है, हमें होती हुई नज़र आ रही है और उसके पीछे जो primary reason है वह यह है कि एक changing world order हो रहा है और जो international financial system है उसके अंदर certain changes आ रही हैं और जब यह दोनों changes आती हैं तो हमेशा जो आपकी बुनियादें होती है ना आपको लगेगा यार मैं किसके साथ alliance बनानी है? किसे दूर होना है? यह micro decisions भी जो है ना आपके कि मैंने business कैसे करना है? मैंने किस job में जाना है? मैंने आने वाले वक्त में opportunity कहां ढूंढनी है? वह तमाम decisions आपके geopolitics से साथ connected हैं कि यार हम लोग कोई rash decision ना लें. हम जो अपना decision ले रहे हैं वह well calculated है. वह तमाम चीज़ को मद्देनज़र रखते हुए हैं और उसमें फिर उस data को मद्देनज़र रखते हुए हम तहम्मुल मिज़ाज़ी के साथ long term जो अपनी direction set करें वह actually ऐसी हो जो कि हमें long term पर फ़ायदा भी दे वह future proof हो और इसी के साथ जब भी chaotic times होते हैं जब भी आपको जो जो आपका framework होता है वह change होता है वह realign होता है क्योंकि personally अगर मैं अपनी बात करूं more often than not इस तरह के times पर इंसान जो है वह spirituality के करीब होता है. वह you know religion के करीब होता है. क्योंकि religious philosophy जो है वह evergreen होती है. वह for all times होती है और उसमें you are able to find bigger meanings और bigger answers to Increasingly हालात ख़राब होते हुए नज़र आऐंगे. अगले दस साल के अंदर it's going to be difficult to, you know, survive and maneuver through the transitions that are coming in. तो उस time के अंदर ज़ाहिर है के all of these things then begin to increasingly look meaningless. And so for me personally as well and also I think for the viewers I feel like कि you know it is time now थोड़ी सी अगर आंखें खुली हैं अगर अल्लाह ताला ने यह opportunity दी है तो थोड़ा सा religion को भी हम academically explore करें और religious philosophy को भी समझने की कोशिश करें. But nonetheless, first of all I am happy to announce कि as of this week, as of this Friday TBT season five is back and we are restarting. So हर Friday को हमारी एक नई episode तो आएगी ही आएगी but कोशिश मेरी आना शुरू हो जाएगी. In terms of topics जैसा कि मैंने आपको अभी explain किया जो मेरा interest area है उसको मद्देनज़र रखते हुए तीन areas को हम explore करेंगे इस season के अंदर. Season हमारा 100 episodes का होता है. पहला उसमें economy of Pakistan आपको पता है मेरा favorite subject है. I wanna understand कि economy किस तरह से काम कर रही है. I wanna understand कि उसके अंदर problems क्या हैं? And साथ साथ I also want to understand कि जैसा कि मैंने आपको बताया कि यार अगर हमने globalize करना ही है. अगर अब future है ही यह कि यार आपने या वह लोग किस तरह business कर रहे हैं या उनके जहां पर वह रहते हैं उनके इर्द गिर्द क्या ऐसी opportunity है जिसमें पाकिस्तानी can be a part of that and पाकिस्तानी can you know utilize that opportunity. चाहे वह Pakistan से बैठकर करें, चाहे वह relocate होकर करें. You know जो western alliance है वह किस तरफ जाएगी? और Pakistan within that framework जब यह decide कर रहा है कि यार अच्छा मुझे क्या neutral होना है? क्या एक की side लेनी है? यह दूसरे की side लेनी है? तो वह फिर किस तरीके से इस पूरी you know मेज़ के through गुज़र सकता है? So geopolitics is my second primary topic for this season and then the third one is of course Islamic philosophy. अब इसमें particularly जब हम geopolitics ही बात करते हैं ना तो again मैंने जैसे पहले आपको बताया कि बहुत ज़्यादा ज़रूरी है. मैं बार बार इस वजह से बोल रहा हूं because Pakistan में unfortunately जो majority of audience है वह इस चीज़ में interested नहीं होती. वह बस अपने ही एक sort of you know कुएं में बैठे रहते हैं. वह उससे बाहर नहीं देखते. मैं आपको बाहर हां कह रहा हूं कि आपका future जो है ना वह सारा geopolitics से connected है. वह इस चीज़ से connected है कि यार आपने अगर relocate करना है तो किन countries में करना है? आपने अगर business करना है तो किन countries के साथ करना है? आने वाले वक्त के अंदर सब कुछ बदल जाएगा. मतलब आज जो आप समझ रहे हैं ना जो और यह मैं आने वाले वक़्त तीस चालीस साल की बात नहीं कर रहा. मैं आपको बता रहा हूं कि अगले तीन चार पांच साल के अंदर everything is about to change. The way that you understand the global power system, the way that you understand the global financial system, वह सब कुछ change होने वाला है. Investments किस तरह होंगी वह change होने वाली हैं. Savings किस तरह होती हैं वह change होने वाली हैं. Personally जो मैंने research की है, जो मैंने history पढ़ी है और जो मैंने non पाकिस्तानीस, Americans, Chinese, Iranians, Russian से कर रहे होंगे तो उनको सुनना एक एक एक sort of global language के अंदर बड़ा important है. अगर आप कहीं फसते हैं आपको अगर कोई word समझ नहीं आ रहा या आपको कोई thought समझ नहीं आ रही तो वैसे comment section में आकर जिस भी podcast के नीचे आप आकर comment section में लिखेंगे यार कौन सा you know phrase या कौन सी thought समझ नहीं आई? I'm sure आपको दूसरे लोग जो हैं वह explain कर देंगे but अगर वह भी नहीं होता तो आप जाएं और जाकर Google करें, आप ChatGPT को इस्तेमाल करें, आप tools इस्तेमाल करें. Modern day में इतने सारे कमाल के tools exist करते हैं जिससे आप बहुत आसानी से different languages को समझ सकते हैं but personally again मैं you know एक request करूंगा कि मैं खुद इस direction में अब जा रहा हूं कि अपनी thought को increase करने के लिए, अपनी knowledge को increase करने के लिए. I will be talking to a lot of non पाकिस्तानी from all over the world. I will be talking in English. Researchers हैं जिन्होंने PhD's कीमी है. You know, Islamic development economics के ऊपर की भी है, Islamic finance पर की भी है, Islamic history पर की भी है. तो मैं उन लोगों से बात करना चाहता हूं. मैं you know ऐसे scholars से बात करना चाहता हूं जो कि नहीं है. क्योंकि Pakistan में ना मैं एक conflict ऐसा देखता हूं कि जहां पर religion और culture जो है वह intermingle होकर एक अजीब सी पुड़िया बनाकर ना हमें खिलाई जाती है constantly और उसमें उससे बहुत conflict लेकिन यहां पर वह conflicts नहीं है जो कि Pakistan में हम देखते हैं. चाहे वह even religious within the religious community भी ना वह आपस में जिस तरह से लड़ रही है पूरी दुनिया में ऐसे नहीं होता. तो मुझे personally यह लगता है कि जो हमारा religious discourse है elements integrated हैं which is why I wanna talk to neutral bipartisan people जिनका Pakistan वाला baggage नहीं है. उनका एक you know एक global framework है. वह एक वह मुसलमानों को एक nation समझकर you know इस्लाम को study करते हैं. वह Pakistan या पाकिस्तानी या पाकिस्तानी मुस्लिम national identity लेकर नहीं चलते. And so I think there is a lot to learn over there. I think के अगर मैं यह नहीं कह रहा कि पाकिस्तानी scholars बुरे हैं या पाकिस्तानी scholars को नहीं सुनना चाहिए. तो मैं personally खुद ऐसे you know scholars से सीखना चाहूंगा and by proxy of that I would want कि मैं Pakistan में you know different conversation integrate कर सकूं ताकि जो understanding है, जो overall content की consumption है उसमें तो मैं उसको chase करते करते उसके पास पहुंचकर ही conversation record कर लूंगा. लेकिन majority conversations जो है ना हमारी अभी जो मैंने पहली जो आठ दस मैंने plan की हैं उसमें एक Oxford University के professor हैं, एक University of Sussex के professor हैं. दोनों के दोनों यह जो हैं यह UK based हैं. तो बहुत सारी conversations अब हमारी digital पर आ जाएंगी which basically means कि you know हम online उनसे बात कर रहे होंगे. तो एक तो यह model change होगा. थोड़ा सा जो you know user experience है वह आमने सामने बैठकर बात करने वाला नहीं होगा. I know कि उसे थोड़ी सी degradation होती है in terms of the emotion that is captured. वह model थोड़ा सा बदल जाता है. लेकिन मुझे personally यह लगता है कि the value of content is more important. पहले मैं बड़ा I was hard stuck कि यार जब तक guest मेरे पास नहीं आएगा मैंने conversation करनी नहीं है. But अब मुझे यह लगता है कि यार अगर मैं उसका wait करता रहा तो फिर you know the quality of conversations भी degrade होती हैं. The quality of topics भी degrade होते हैं. तो अगर मैं इस चीज़ को छोड़ दूं और मैं actually यह ढूंढूं कि यार एक अच्छे topic का बेहतरीन guest मुझे कहां से मिलेगा? चाहे वह दुनिया में कहीं पर भी हो. If I can get him online with me in a conversation and I can ask him questions that I think are important questions. I think there's a lot of value in that content. So there will be a lot of digital podcasts जिसमें again जो guest मेरी तो चलो मेरा यह वाला जो है ना equipment भी इस्तेमाल हो रहा होगा, audio भी अच्छी होगी, video भी अच्छी होगी. Guest की I think हमारी दुनिया में बहुत radical और बहुत profound changes आने वाली हैं और यह चीज़ मुझे scare भी कर रही है. यह चीज़ मुझे excite भी कर रही है और इसकी वजह से मैं इसको explore करना चाहता हूं और understand करना चाहता हूं क्योंकि यह जो changes हैं यह बहुत बहुत what was the world like जो इससे पहले जो दुनिया चलती आ रही है what was that like? Why was that like that? कि मतलब अगर जो निज़ाम है जिस निज़ाम है हम आज तक रहते रहे हैं चाहे वह अच्छा हो, चाहे वह बुरा हो, वह क्यों ऐसे था? किसने उसको build किया? क्या चीज़ें ऐसी हुई थी हमारी recent history के अंदर पिछले सौ साल के अंदर जिसने जो modern world जो आज हमारा है जिसमें America एक super power है, करते हैं ना तो वह black and white नहीं होता है. उसमें बहुत सारा grey होता है. उसमें बहुत सारी different चीज़ें मिलकर एक situation create करती हैं. तो काफ़ी दफा मैंने जो particularly जब मैं Pakistan में discourse में follow करता हूं ऐसी opportunities आने वाली हैं ताकि ख़ुद से आप अपने आप को guard कर लें. जब आपको पता है कि अब हालात थोड़े से left right होने वाले हैं तो आप अपने आप को पहले से protect कर लें और जहां पर हालात ख़राब होते हैं वहां पर हमेशा opportunity आती है. तो वह cheap entertainment का concept आया उसमें और cinema became a a brick driver of cheap entertainment and because of that Hollywood became an entire industry. तो जहां पर आपको बताया जाता है कि यार पूरी दुनिया की economy ठप हो गई और you know बहुत ही बुरे हालात हो गए. वहां पर भी एक set of people who you know understood कि यार यह जो adversity है इसमें से मैं opportunity किस तरह बना सकता हूं? They were able to not just sustain but also grow और यह जो element है यह समझना बड़ा ज़रूरी है कि ठीक है दुनिया में हालात ख़राब हो रहे हैं. ठीक है chaos आ रही है. ठीक है confusion है और changes आ रही हैं. But changes are inevitable. यह कोई ऐसी बात नहीं होती. हमेशा अच्छे times नहीं रहते. दुनिया या ज़िंदगी जो है ना वह up and down का नाम है. Constantly यानी कि अगर आप बहुत अच्छा खेल रहे हैं तो इसका मतलब यह नहीं है कि अब तो बस अब आप अच्छा ही खेलेंगे और सब कुछ बेहतरीन होता रहेगा. आपको हमेशा यह कुछ changes आ रही हैं जिसकी वजह से you know हम uncomfortable हो रहे हैं. हमें अपने आप को realign करना पड़ रहा है. हमें अपना framework change करना पड़ रहा है. हमें अपनी understanding change करनी पड़ रही है. But this will lead to a better outcome. There will be better days at the end of the road once यह जो बुरे हालात हैं, यह जो changes हैं यह ख़त्म हो जाए. तो बड़ा important है यह समझना कि जो absolute optimism और absolute pessimism है ना आपने उस तरफ़ नहीं जाना. आपने हर वक्त ढोल नहीं मिल जाते रहना कि यार नहीं नहीं बस सब अच्छा होगा और बस जी दुनिया जो है ना वह बेहतरीन है. थोड़ा ठहराव आ गया है मेरी personality के अंदर लेकिन that does not mean कि अब मैं बिल्कुल flape हूं और मैं कह रहा हूं कि सब बकवास है, सब चूना था. भाई ऐसी बात नहीं है. एक different time में एक different reality थी. उस time पर वाकई अच्छा system चल रहा था और वह तमाम चीज़ें भी पिछले दो तीन साल के अंदर ही होना शुरू हुई नहीं है. But nonetheless, you know, there was a there was a positive sentiment and then that reversed and now there is a negative sentiment. But that's gonna reverse as well and that is extremely important to understand cycles reverse होंगे and which is why मैं थोड़ा सा मैं ख़ुद भी study करता हूं और मैं चाहता हूं कि आप लोग भी study करें ताकि आप थोड़ा सा ना अगर आपको पता है कि यार अगले तीन चार पांच साल बुरे आने वाले हैं तो फिर आप relax कर जाएं. तो it's better to align yourself with the realities so that you know you you you don't get too upset or you don't get too over excited और यही चीज़ जब आप Pakistan की economy context में देखते हैं ना manufacturing और export का काम शुरू. वह जो transition है वह हमेशा painful होता है, वह chaotic होता है लेकिन आज Pakistan में वही transition आ रहा है और वह transition ही है जिसकी वजह से लोग uncomfortable हो रहे हैं और वह लोगों का जो discomfort है उसकी वजह से जो उनकी उनका शोर है, उनकी जो आवाज़ें हैं उसकी वजह से अब finally वह changes, वह direction ऐसी set होगी जिसकी वजह से Pakistan grow करेगा. So in a lot of ways there is a silver lining even within the framework of पाकिस्तानी economy जिसको मद्देनज़र रखते हुए बस मैं बार बार यह कहूंगा कि दिल बर्दाश्ता नहीं होना, अपने आपने परेशान नहीं होना, आपने घबराना नहीं है. You know, there is a lot of terrible things happening and and and definitely my heart goes out to people who are suffering right now. But I would just again मैं hope देना चाह रहा हूं कि you know I hope that आप अपना दिल छोटा ना करें. आप ज़्यादा परेशान ना हों. आप sustain कर सकें इस मुश्किल वक्त को because I hope इंशालाह through the conversations that I have in this season you are able to find the same level of positivity that I have begun to find now. Again I am not saying I am fully positive you know या मैं बहुत कोई वही hopeless romantic type का बंदा हो गया हूं लेकिन मुझे अब sense बनना शुरू हो गई है. मेरे इधर एक ठहरा हो आ गया है and I hope कि इन conversation से आपके अंदर भी वह आ जाए आने वाले दिनों में. अच्छा इसमें एक और चीज़ में मैं बड़ा interested हूं वह है जो intersection of economics and Islamic philosophy है जो particularly Islamic financial system है. Actually तीनों ही चीज़ें mix होती हैं क्योंकि economy at the very least global economy is connected to geopolitics क्योंकि वह जो you know prevailing super power होती है वही अपना financial system भी पूरी दुनिया में लेकर आती है और उसी के साथ connected है Islamic philosophy. But मैं Islamic financial system, Islamic finance में बहुत interested हूं. अगर आपके पास कोई recommendation है of people to talk to तो वह भी मुझे बताइएगा. Pakistan ने personally मेरा experience यह रहा है. मैंने पिछले दो तीन महीने तो मैंने any and everyone को study किया है. Any and every video देखी है. Any and every scholar को पढ़ाए और सुनाए और मैंने यह देखा है कि Pakistan में जो scholars हैं they're doing really good work in terms of lot of other things but when it comes to finance उनकी अपनी understanding कोई बहुत अच्छी नहीं है finance और economics की और वह जो basic understanding है वह उसी की basis के ऊपर जो है ना उन्होंने एक Islamic framework बना दिया जिसकी वजह से जो Islamic banking, Islamic जो जो जो भी हमारा Pakistan में चल रहा होता है ना कि यार loan हराम है, interest हराम है. हम एक तो हमारा Islamic finance जो है ना वह बस सूद से शुरू होता और सूद पर ही खत्म हो जाता है. But even सूद की वह बड़ी एक narrow किस्म की view लेता है. जिसके अंदर बस वह कहता है कि यार अगर आपने कर्जा लिया तो कर्जे के ऊपर you know जो आपका interest है वह हराम है. Whereas जो Islamic financial system था वह एक philosophy थी जिसमें equality की बात की गई थी जिसमें hoarding के खिलाफ था वह जिसमें ज़क़ात क्यों exist करती है और you know taxes कितने सारे different किस्म के थे और charity का क्या concept है और वह जो निज़ाम वह build कर रहे थे उसका purpose क्या था in the first place and that gives you a lot of clues in terms of what's wrong with our governance system, our financial system but also gives you a lot of clues कि यार जो हम individually daily life में ना अपने financial decisions ले रहे होते हैं कि हमने किस चीज़ में invest करना है? हमने you know अपने पैसे को किस तरह से treat करना है? हमारी जो relationship with money है and relationship with work है और relationship with you know earnings है. वह मैं जो मैंने study किया है और आने वाले दिनों में hopefully मैं आपको आपके साथ भी share करूंगा. तो आपका mind again फिर से blow होगा because all of us are very un Islamic in the way that we और मैं उनकी बात नहीं कर रहा जो कि you know mortgage कराते हैं और सूद लेते हैं और credit card के ऊपर जो है ना वह interest दे रहे हैं. मैं उन लोगों की बात कर रहा हूं जो कि अपने हिसाब से fully Islamic system चला रहे हैं. वह भी उनको क्योंकि हमारा financial नज़ाम ही पुरान Islamic inherently है तो which is why दुनिया में inequality भी है which is why हालात भी खराब हो रहे हैं. Fit है लेकिन बस सूद ख़त्म हो जाए. तो उसका मतलब क्या है? And what are the implications? अगर मैं सूद को ख़त्म करूं तो मेरे financial system में रुपए की क्या implication है? Money printing की, government की, you know all of those things. So so that's one very interesting area that I would love to explore and if you have any recommendations do let me know as well. Personally जो मेरी research है उसको मैं कुछ दिल की बात में you know, sort of summarize करके I'll share it with you guys. बारह में यह कहूंगा I'm not coming here as an expert अगर मैं दिल की paths में आ रहा हूं या मैं podcast में जा रहा हूं तो मैं कोई you know कोई flat out फत्वेह नहीं ले रहा. मैं exploration पर हूं, मैं knowledge gathering पर हूं. तो अगर आप यह देख रहे हैं और अगर आप आने वाली वक्त के episodes देखेंगे और you know reference दें और और books share करें और जहां से भी आपने पढ़ाया है, आपने understanding बनाई है उसको cite करें ताकि हम वह discussion कर सकते हैं. हो सकता है आप सही ना हो, हो सकता है मैं सही ना हो and we are all here to learn and grow. So कि politics जो local politics है वह मैं इस season में बिल्कुल भी cover नहीं करूंगा. मैंने अपनी ज़िंदगी में तकरीबन चार सौ conversations की हैं. चार सौ में से less than five percent of those conversations are with politicians. लेकिन already उन मेरी ज़िंदगी में मैंने अगर किसी ने आकर मेरा काम देखा हो ना तो चार सौ conversations with very diverse people and a lot of conversations जो कि market में कोई और cover नहीं कर रहा और वह ऐसी conversations हैं जो कि बिल्कुल controversial भी नहीं है. मतलब उसमें कोई आप तक पहुंचाऊं और उसको जल्द से जल्द खत्म करूं क्योंकि लोगों को भी shock होता है कि वह छोटा crisp to the point content देखें. तो वह मेरी पूरी कोशिश है कि इंशाला podcast के अद्वीर वह करूं और इस episode को भी I will try my level best कि मैं इसको shorten करके thirty, thirty five minutes maybe forty minutes के अंदर you know summarize कर दूं कटा को टूके but nonetheless I am excited to restart TBT podcast and I am excited to have some good valuable meaningful conversations. अगर आपके पास कोई topic है दिमाग़ में you know when it comes to पाकिस्तानी economy, when it comes to geopolitics और Islamic philosophy let me know in the comment section below.
